Parent Organizations
The Bret Harte Community Club (BHCC) is a non-profit volunteer organization. With a large and enthusiastic group of parent volunteers, BHCC is actively involved in organizing and financially supporting various activities and events inside as well as outside the classroom at Bret Harte.
Bret Harte Athletics & Booster Club
Bret Harte Athletics and Booster Club programs provide academic, social and athletic benefits to all Bret Harte students. More than 800 students directly participate in a Booster Club activity. Bret Harte is proud to have the greatest number of athletic sports teams and extra-curricular student interest clubs available at any middle school in the area. In addition to funding more than 20 athletic teams and numerous extra-curricular clubs, the Booster Club directly supports the Bret Harte P.E. Department by purchasing equipment for all students to use. The Booster Club has also combined support with the ASB and Community Club to pay for campus improvements like the marquee sign, school sound systems, band instruments and more. Our Sister School Foundation
In 2007, Bret Harte families built our sister middle school, the Doris Dillon School, in a remote village in Cambodia. Doris was a nationally renowned teacher who taught at Greystone and Williams Elementary. To our knowledge, no other public middle school has done this.
Bret Harte has helped support the education of over 2,000 village students. Before this, education ended after 6th grade.
Some programs we support:
*Providing over 140 scholarships to girls who were forced to drop out because of their family’s poverty,
*Establishing a demonstration organic garden so students can educate their families on migrating from a single-crop dependency on rice,
*Funding a librarian and library of over 500 books and educational tablets.
And, 44 Bret Harte grads and parents have created and taught classes at our sister school. To find out more about how you can help support our sister school, please visit:
